Speedball Textbook. Centenary Edition

Published for the first time in 1915 by Ross F. George, the book  Speedball Textbook is an important source of calligraphy and alphabets of all styles. For the celebration of the 100th year since its first edition, Speedball has published this new edition.

With the help of the co-editors Angela Vangais and Randal Hasson, this 24th edition has much more content with instructions and inspiration for techniques and stiles from medieval to modern times and it features works from the most well-known scribes worldwide.

This edition includes tributes to the most famous fonts: the cover’s font is Single Stroke Construction from Sho Card Gothic. This style was seen in the 12th edition in 1933 and it’s one of the most famous fonts by George.

The amount of elements that are commemorated in the cover and back cover in their different editions are a tribute in the history of Speedball calligraphy.

Over 120 pages with improved instructions, more step-by-step explanations and many examples. It contains 15 pages of material dedicated to the angles in the stroke, the techniques used in the different alphabets and practical exercises.

It includes over 70 recognized and respectable fonts from all over the world. Also, it has sections for board calligraphy, signs, comics and much more.
