Traditionally produced in a cylindrical mould, ARCHES®Aquarella paper has a perfect natural grain. Thanks to this process, the fibres are evenly distributed and the paper is evenly stretched when wet.

Its 100% cotton composition, with long fibres, gives the paper its beauty, a permanent natural whiteness, an inimitable feel and guarantees its strength.

ARCHES® is the only mill in the world that thoroughly gels its watercolour paper. This process preserves the brilliance and transparency of the colours by preventing them from penetrating the paper. It allows the gouaches to be superimposed and reinforces the resistance of the paper when erasing and scraping, without tearing or shedding lint. It also allows paint to be removed, wet or dry, and easily restores the whiteness of the paper. ARCHES® Watercolour can absorb a lot of water, and its deformation is limited.
