We Will Be Remembered

The second book by the populariser Claramore (A Van Gogh in the living room) and the first history of LGTBIQ+ art told as a newspaper.

Art is said to be everyone's home, although for centuries those who did not follow the standards were excluded. This book shows how LGTBIQ+ people have transformed the world through the arts from its beginnings to the present day.

With each chapter inspired by a different colour of the rainbow flag, Claramore explores the work of artists such as Toulouse Lautrec, Rubens, Hilma af Klimt and Natalie Barney and their impact on sexuality, dissidence, health, pride, spirituality and racism throughout history. Combining fine art, photography and sculpture, We Will Be Remembered illuminates the ability to create, resist and shine beyond labels and scandals.

For anyone who has felt they didn't fit in, who has searched for references and loved outside the margins. It's for you, who want to look at art with different eyes.

Art history has always been seriously lacking in points of view. This book is a necessary challenge to bring a fuller and fairer picture to the public." Miguel Ángel Cajigal (El Barroquista)

Art has often been a refuge to convey what society punished. Thank goodness Clara brings it to light so that we don't forget those who came before". Mikel Herrán (PutoMikel)

This stroll through the margins of art history is exciting. Clara dissects with ease everything that matters to us". Bernardo Pajares and Juanra Sanz (Arte Compacto)

"Undoubtedly, an essential reading about our collective memory." Carla Serrano Sastre (@la.inercia)
