What is quality in art?

• Why do we say that a work of art is good? What do we mean?
• Little has been written about quality in art, an elusive concept that, being too much shaped by subjectivity and prejudices, is difficult to specify and define.
• Alejandro Vergara Sharp rebels against this difficulty and, with a close and direct prose, defends that a good knowledge of the history of art provides us with elements of judgment that make our argumentation not simply subjective.
• He then invites the reader to embark with him on a journey of investigation and, in the Socratic manner, he unveils, and unveils himself, one by one the questions that can help to clarify the term.
