Women in Art History

• Talented women artists have always had to struggle to make their way in a man's world that has underestimated or ignored them.
• Women in Art History guides us on an exciting journey to discover the lives, works and legacies of exceptional women artists who have often not received the recognition they deserve.
• From the illustrator nun Ende, who left her mark in the 10th century, to Iaia de Cícico, author of the first documented self-portrait, to the iconic Artemisia Gentileschi, an example of resilience in the Baroque period, or Frida Kahlo and Maruja Mallo, symbols of modernity and courage, María José Noain Maura traces the history of art and masterfully describes the times and environments that shaped the careers of the most extraordinary female creators.
• Women in the History of Art is an invitation to rediscover female talent and to see the history of art in a new, fairer and more inclusive way.
