Here we go with two easy tutorials to help you make the most out of these wonderful Chalk paints.
Summertime means good weather and with the warm temperatures comes the perfect time to do some Home Decor, or in other words time to start painting our furniture!
Boxes, frames, pallets, tables, chairs or any other object we may find around. The best thing of Home Decor is that we can reuse our old stuff in a very eco-friendly way.

The Chalk Paint is the perfect companion for this kind of matter. We donāt need to apply any previous treatment or sand down our furniture, we just to need to start applying as many coats as we want or use crackle paint on top of it for example. We will be getting a very characteristic matte and vintage effect.
This is why we have added this fantastic chalk paint to our site, La Pajaritaās collection is one of the most renowned around the world. Even the jars are incredibly cute and reusable! There are different sizes and colours to help you choosing your favourite ones.

So, now that we know what we are talking about, what better than seeing by ourselves what we can do with it?
Crackle Effect Tutorial:
If you want to create this very unique effect we are going to need two different chalk paints and a crackle varnish.
You can always do it just using one colour but with two the effect will be much more realistic. We recommend you to apply the deeper colour underneath the lighter one.
The process is very simple, cover abundantly your object with a first coat and let it dry. You can forget about sanding down or applying any previous treatment. Now you just need to apply the crackle varnish.
Make sure you clean carefully the brush so we donāt find any remain that could possibly damage the second coat. When the brush is clean and the varnish dry itās time to apply the second colour coat.
When everything is dry you will see the awesome effect that youāll get!

Vintage Effect Tutorial:
You have seen this effect everywhere for sure: shops, bars, furnitureā¦
We are talking about giving a shabby or vintage touch to any object and for that purpose, we are going to need two different colours and white wax. We apply the first of our colours (if you have a look we decided to apply the darker colour first) and when itās dry we apply some wax on some areas. This will make the posterior strip much easier.
Now we apply a new colour coat and wait until itās dry.
With a fine grain sandpaper we will sand down our object, applying more pressure on the areas where we want to make the darker colour reveal. To get a perfect finish apply wax or varnish, this will help fixing the colours and getting that vintage effect we are looking for.

So, as you can see itās really simple to get crackle or vintage effects and the best part is that we donāt need to apply any previous treatment, we can start working in our beautiful projects right away.
