• Pebeo presents its Marbling colour line, perfect for creating marbling effects.
• Suitable for application on light surfaces: canvas, paper, cardboard, recycled paper, wood, plaster...

• The Marbling colours are used in a technique inspired by the rice paper stippling used in Japan in the 11th century and later adapted in Europe by 19th century bookbinders.
• This is the transfer of colours by the simple contact of the object to be decorated with a coloured surface.
• When applied on fabric, it is necessary to fix the colours with an iron.
• The thickening bath can be used for several successive creations. However, it is best to use a small amount of thickening bath and change it again.
• On some surfaces, Marbling colours may become lighter or darker as they dry.
• It is possible to decorate objects with Marbling colours. If the object is flat, the process is the same as with fabric and paper. If it has volume, simple shapes are preferable, so that all sides of the object are in contact with the colour bath. The object should be rotated on the surface of the bath without immersing it so that the colour is deposited on the surface.

How to use:

Bath preparation:

• - The thickening bath should be prepared in advance.
• - Sprinkle 2 teaspoons (7 grams) of Marbling thickener into 1 litre of cold water and mix vigorously with a whisk.
• - Leave to rest for 2 hours.
• - Pour a 1 to 2 cm thick layer of gel into a tray or bucket that is larger than the objects you wish to decorate.

Marble Effect realisation:

• - Using the eyedropper, carefully place the chosen Marbling colours on the surface of the bath. Alternate light and dark colours, they overlap, but never mix.
• - Let the drops spread out for a few seconds before working them with the help of a cotton swab. By orienting the colours in different ways, it is possible to obtain various patterns and effects: circles, sweeps...
• Simply apply drops of colour, one inside the other to obtain concentric spots.
• Once the effects have been created in the bath, carefully place the fabric or decorating paper, previously cut to size, on the surface of the coloured bath.
• Let it stand for 10 to 15 seconds before removing it.
• Rinse quickly under running water to remove excess gel + colour mixture. Place the decorated surface on a flat surface and allow to dry.

Others:

• Marbling paints can also be used in water without the Marbling bath. The marble effects are more pronounced and the shades more pastel.
• Clean your equipment with soapy water.
• QUALITY: heat-fixed water colours (on textiles), fluid, lively and intense.
• DRYING: in a few minutes in the air.
• FIXING FOR TEXTILES: iron during 5 minutes on the back of the fabric, in a cotton-position iron without steam or 5 minutes at 150 ° C in the household oven.
