Chinese painting
Traditional Chinese painting was fundamentally a concrete art form; abstract painting in the strict sense never emerged. Concrete objects in Chinese painting were not a simple copy of nature following the principle of perspective, but a unity or harmony between the natural world and the painters' mentality, which was a new world of "heaven (nature) and human being". Chinese painters preferred to depict a vague description in their paintings. Few people paid attention to technique such as colour, perspective, anatomy, the feeling of quality, size and proportion, etc. Chinese painters wanted to create an immaterial world that could satisfy mental activities, landscapes and natural things were not the objects of necessary and faithful imitation, but the materials to build their own world.
