Talens Art Creation water-soluble oil pastels are creamy paints that apply smoothly and blend easily, just like regular oil pastels. The difference, however, is that in addition to applying them directly to paper, you can mix these pastels with water to create even smoother colour transitions and make intense colours more transparent for a watercolour effect.

How to use: apply water to parts of the paper using a damp brush, wet the pastels before applying them or use a damp brush to deposit the colour directly from the pastel onto the paper. Create uniform colours, smoothing the texture of the dry oil pastel marks.

The 24-colour oil pastel set offers a great basic palette of colours, and comes in a handy container with a plastic tray and cardboard sleeve to keep them clean and organised.

Available in sets of 12 and 36 colours.
