Stamperia Classic Gold Leaf 14x14cm

• Very fine gold leaf, used for decorative gilding on various surfaces.
• Includes a booklet of 11 sheets, each measuring 14 x 14 cm.

• The gold leaf can be applied using a water-based method, with a prepared base of plaster and rabbit skin glue, and subsequently covered with a reddish-coloured Armenian varnish.
• To achieve a shine once the gold leaf has been applied, it should be burnished with an agate stone.
• It can also be applied using the ‘sisa’ or ‘mordiente’ technique, which involves applying a layer of an adhesive called ‘mixtión’; once this has dried, the gold is applied.
