Flat elastic cord is one of those essential materials that always ends up being used in bookbinding projects. It is commonly used to create closures on albums, diaries, notebooks, and midoris, providing a comfortable hold for daily use and a neat finish on covers and structures.

Its flat format is particularly practical for these types of projects, as it sits better on covers and allows for discrete, functional closures without adding bulk to the spine. Unlike the 0.1 in round elastic cord, the 0.2 in flat option offers a wider grip surface, perfect for larger covers or projects requiring a firmer hold. Thanks to its 0.2 in width, it can be used with Craftelier eyelets and other standard closure systems in handmade bookbinding and scrapbooking.

It is manufactured with an inner latex rubber core covered in polyester thread, a tested combination that provides the necessary elasticity and strength to open and close projects repeatedly without losing tension or comfort of use.

In addition to bookbinding, it can also be used in creative sewing, decorative packaging, and DIY projects where elastic elements or closures are required.

The collection is available in different colors to easily combine with papers, faux leather, faux suede, and other bookbinding materials.
