The best complement for our bookbinding ruler set has arrived, here are the Rounded Corner Miter Tools!

When we launched the bookbinding ruler set (if you don't know what we're talking about, you can take a look at this post) you kept asking us the same question: "how do we make bindings with rounded corners"? Because binding rounded corners can be tricky! So, we set to work on a product that would allow us to bind these corners easily and quickly, to be a complement to our set of binding rules.
As it is a complement to our Bookbinding Ruler Set, we have the Rounded Corner Miter Tools available in pink and turquoise, so you can match your set and make the most complete kit for bookbinding. There won't be a single binding we can't make!

The new binding square sets include two rulers, one with a 1/2 angle and one with a 1/4 angle. In case you're wondering why these measurements, well, these are the measurements of the Corner Chomper angles... In general, we always use these cuts to make the corners of our projects and it is so widespread that they are almost the two standard measurements that you will find in bindings or cards.
Using these triangles is very easy and by using them we'll save a lot of time. And what's more important, our corners will be perfect. Goodbye to bulging corners due to unnecessary excess paper or annoying little peaks that form in the corner, With these squares, our rounded corners will always be perfect.

How to use the Rounded Corner Miter Tools?
Step 1
Once we've got the front and back cover in the desired size, we can use our set of binding rulers set to start binding. The L shape ruler will help us to determine the amount of paper or cloth (whatever the material we're using) we need in order to bind; the T shape ruler and the separation guide will help us to align the covers and album spine and to determine the space between them.
Once we've done these steps, we can place the corresponding square to the angle we've made on the cardboard (1/2 or 1/4) and with the help of a pencil, we'll start to mark the edges of the corner of the square.
Step 2
Following the lines we've drawn with the pencil, we'll cut the paper 8or cloth) carefully, so that we have a corner with different peaks (see photo on the right).

Step 3
Apply the glue of your choice, we've used Tacky Glue because it's perfect for bookbinding, it dries quickly, and it's very strong.
Step 4
Now, it's time to glue the paper or fabric to the cardboard. We can use a Teflon Bone Folder to make this task easier, especially to work on the corner of our cover. Thanks to the notches we've previously made, we've removed the excess of paper, leaving a smooth surface with a professional finish. We can say goodbye to the unpleasant building corner that made our project lose quality.

And that's it, we've achieved a perfect corner in just a few minutes, very easy! Now it's time to repeat the same steps with the rest of the corners of our project and will have our album ready.

What do you think of this new addition to our bookbinding ruler set? Do you normally make your albums with rounded corners and needed this tool? Let us know what you think in the comments!
