Within our range of cutting tools, you will find our rotary cutter, which has a circular blade that cuts by sliding it over the material.
It is perfect for cutting all types of paper and cardboard (it does not cut cardboard), but especially for cutting thin materials or fabric.
How does it work?
The rotary cutter has an ergonomic handle, which makes it easy and comfortable to use. There is a trigger on the handle, which, when pulled, makes the blade protrude and allows you to cut. To store the cutter safely, to avoid cuts or the blade breaking if the cutter falls on the floor, the trigger is locked with the small button on the top of the handle. Remember to lock the cutter whenever you are not using it.
To cut with this cutter, if you want to make straight lines, you can use a ruler as a guide (preferably metal or with a reinforced metal edge), but you can also cut freehand using a grid cutting base. The cutting mat is essential for cutting, otherwise it will damage the surface of your workbench.
But if you want to cut wavy, simply draw waves when sliding the cutter to obtain curved cuts.

This cutter is suitable for both right-handed and left-handed people. The blade should always be on the inside (i.e. you should be able to see it when cutting). So depending on whether you are right-handed or left-handed, you can unscrew the thread that holds the blade (just as if you were going to change it) and place it on one side or the other.
When cutting (always forward), do not put the hand holding the material in the cutter's path, this way you will avoid accidental cuts.
Cutting without dragging
The main advantage of this cutter is that the blade is not dragged as with a conventional cutter, but ārollsā over the material as it cuts it. What is the advantage of this? Well, in the case of materials that have less body and a tendency to wrinkle, such as vellum paper or fabrics, we avoid tearing or damaging them, creating a clean cut.
This is why this type of cutter is used in the world of sewing, to cut pieces of fabric for patchwork or patterns for all kinds of projects. But you can use it perfectly on paper and cardboard, because it also offers many creative possibilities.
Replacement blades
The cutter comes with a 45 mm circular blade, and spare blades are available separately on the website. The spare blades come in a convenient plastic storage case for safe storage. This way, you can always have new, sharp blades ready to cut.
Depending on the type of material you are used to cutting, the service life of the blade will be longer or shorter. It will need to be replaced when you notice that the material is a little harder to cut. You can also sharpen the blade by running it over aluminium foil, so that it will last a little longer.
Shaped blades
In addition to the straight extra blades, you will also find a set of three different shaped blades in a box on our website
Two of them make a wavy cut, one with large waves and one with small waves.
The third one makes a discontinuous cut, with which we can make a perforation that we can then use to tear. This cut is perfect for the corners of diary pages, creating booklets, envelope closures, etc.
Combine these blades to add creative details to your projects, whether on paper or other materials.
