Introducing the new Minty Thermal, our new thermal bookbinding machine. With it you will be able to create a wide variety of personalised notebooks and albums.
For this type of thermosealing binding, instead of rings, we will use strips of glue that, when melting with the heat, glue all the sheets together. In just a few minutes, you will obtain a work with a professional finish.
What's in the Minty Thermal box?
In the box, in addition to the machine, you will find 3 spines of 30.5 cm in white, pink and turquoise, and instructions. The spines can be easily cut to fit the length of your project. Also, loose glue strips are available separately, to adapt to the spine you want, both in length and thickness (putting two strips side by side).
The Minty Thermal is suitable for bindings up to 30.5 cm long and 2 cm wide. Several projects can be inserted at the same time as long as they do not exceed this thickness.
Awesome thermal binding ready in four simple steps
1 : To create your binding, plug the machine in and turn it on to warm up. When the light turns green, it will beep and you will know it is ready to start. 2 : Prepare the papers, covers and spine. These can be separate or in one piece. Place the glue strip between the pages and the spine (cut it if necessary) and fasten it all together with clips or clamps. Note that the material you use for the spine should be heat resistant. 3 : Insert your project into the Minty Thermal, with the spine at the bottom, in contact with the base of the machine. Press the Timer button and wait. After one minute the machine will beep to let you know that the binding is ready (if the spine material is thick you can repeat the operation). 4 : Carefully take out your bound project and leave it to cool on the stand for 5 minutes before opening it. Your project is ready! In this video you can see the step by step of the binding and how to use your Minty Thermal.Customise your projects
One great way to personalise your bindings using heat sealing is to add a bookmark. Simply place the ribbon between the glue strip and the pages so that it sticks when the glue melts. Then clip the end of the ribbon to the pages before putting it into the Minty Thermal.
Imagine, experiment, create
As well as cardboard, you can use other materials for your spines, such as faux leather, bookbinding cloth or felt, as long as they are heat-resistant. You can use all kinds of materials for the covers, such as acetate, since these do not come into contact with the base plate of the binding machine. You also have a wide range of possibilities in terms of the format of your projects: large or small, photo albums, shopping list pads, weekly organisers or personal diaries. With this tool, you can create anything you can imagine, so don't hesitate ā go for it!
