Dies are one of those scrapbooking materials that we never seem to have enough of and, of course, we end up collecting so many designs we don't even know how to store them, so we can find them quickly. In this post, you'll find some solutions to that.

It is possible that many of you already have your storage system, or maybe you are still a bit lost and don't know how to store all your dies and save space, which is also very important in a scraproom. Well, we particularly like two systems for that.

Die-cut album

Yes, because our scrapbooking albums are not only used to make our projects, we can use them for countless things. And organization is one of them. You can design your album or buy one of our models to save time. We have many designs to choose from and different formats, so you can choose the one that best suits your needs. We suggest our Craftelier albums, available in eco-leather and cardboard. The cardboard albums are all 6" x 8", very handy. In addition, you can pick between albums with a 6 cm or 5 cm spine (depending on the amount of dies you have, you can choose one or the other). And best of all, there are many designs to choose from.

cardboard album Our eco-leather albums come in solid colours (except for our imitation marble line) and are available in two sizes, 6 x 8" and 12 x 12". The latter are ideal if you have a lot of dies, as they have a large capacity, and you will be able to organize your dies much better.

So, once we know what kind of album we want (not an easy task considering the large number of designs we can choose from), it's time to get down to work. It's time to get down to work, we will need: photo pocket pages and magnetic die sheets organizers.

ecoleather album Magnetic sheets, for those of you who don't know them yet, are thin magnetic sheets that allow us to adhere metals to them, perfect for organizing our die-cuts! You can find them in three different sizes: 3 "x 4", 4" x 6" and 6" x 8". They are precisely these sizes so that they fit perfectly in the photo pockets pages.

magnetic sheets

You can play with the sizes of these magnetic sheets to organize your dies and arrange them in the way that is most convenient for you: by theme, for example, flowers, banners, Christmas or wedding dies; by collections or by styles. In addition, to make it much easier to locate them in our scraproom, we can write on a label holder that we will place on the spine of our album what it contains: "Christmas dies", "basic shapes dies", so we know what each one contains without having to open them. Our eco-leather albums already include a label holder and although the cardboard ones don't, this has an easy solution, you can always add one of our label holders, there are plenty of colours to choose from to combine with your albums.

die organization Dies Storage Envelopes

Another way to organize our dies are these envelopes. They are made of clear plastic, so they are perfect to see what's inside, and they also allow you to organize your dies by theme, you can keep your complete alphabets in them.

Another use you can give them is to keep all our die cuts in them. A very common practice among scrapbookers is to make the most of all the paper, so when a job is finished, many times there are small scraps of paper left over whose only possible use is to give them a new life by die-cutting them. So, take our favourite die-cutting machine, and we start die-cutting different basic shapes with these leftover scraps of paper. But then... we often lose them, they bend or break because they haven't been stored properly. Well, another of the uses you can give to these envelopes is precisely to store these decorations and have them always ready and handy to decorate your projects.

dies storage envelopes

Whatever the use you give them, you can also write on these envelopes what they contain and make it much easier to find the perfect die-cutting tool. Once you have your die collection sorted out, you use them a lot more. Seeing the different designs you have and having them always at hand, without having to spend time looking for them, will make your work much easier. From now on you won't be able to stop using them. And you, do you save your dies in any of these ways or do you have another method, tell us about it in the comments :)
