Do you dare to use envelopes differently?
Do you know that saying: "less is more"? Well, it can also apply to scrapbooking, and sometimes a project with few elements is more pleasing than an excessively overloaded one, and there are very simple elements within the scrapbooking world that go unnoticed, but which can be pleasant surprises. One of those elements, which are simple and are unnoticed, are the envelopes. Yes, you're reading right. An envelope can be the start of a great project, and envelopes give us a thousand and one possibilities!
Envelopes, of course, can be bought, but a true handicraft will be handmade to make them to their own taste, style, and size, and to achieve this, we have practical tools such as the Envelope Punch Board from We R Memory Keepers. With it, we can make up to 66 different models, so we can make different envelopes, so we won't get bored! And what's more, it's very easy to use: the baseboard has measurements to calculate the size, it includes a folder to mark before creating and a hole punch to make the rounded corners.

- Choose the size of the envelope and place the paper on the size provided on the guide.
- With the folding machine, mark the lines of the envelope and cut the corners.
- With the hole punch, make the rounded corners.
- Assemble the envelope and that's it!
Envelope and cards
The first and simplest one can be used to put a card inside it. It can be a birthday card or a wedding invitation. In this case, we definitely recommend using double-sided paper or decorating the inside of the envelope, as we have explained above. A very elegant combination is a single-colour or kraft decoration for the outside and a printed and coloured decoration for the inside. You can also play with textures, using textured paper, glitter, velvet, etc.

Pockets for midoris

If you are one of those who love midoris, envelopes are also a great ally. Your Traveller's Journal cover may already have pockets, but these are never enough, especially if you are going to take it on a trip or use it on a daily basis. For those cases, envelopes can be very useful for storing tickets, notes, bookmarks, ornaments, etc. And adding them can make a big difference for you.
Envelopes for Snail Mail
If you like to participate in Snail Mails and you need to create different cards or flipbooks for your pen pal, you can also use the envelopes for the inside of the card. This way, if your card contains one or more envelopes, we can keep a note for the pen pal or some treats inside.
Mini-album with envelopes
One step further is to use the envelopes as a base to create a mini scrapbook. In this case, there are several options.

We can make small envelopes and attach them together with washi tapes. Or you can combine them with small papers to create the album. This way, you can use the envelopes to store photos or other items inside.
You can also join them by gluing the flap to the envelope and then inserting other envelopes into this joint. The result is a small album that opens in three parts, and you can use one of the remaining tabs to create the closure with a rubber band.
Finally, we suggest using the closed envelopes as an inner base, i.e. as pages. These closed envelopes will be joined together with washi tapes. All you have to do is make some nice covers, and you are ready to decorate.
What do you think of all that can be invented with a simple envelope? What else can you think of?
