Artis Decor Sublimation Primer
Artis Decor Sublimation Primer
Sublimation is a technique used to transfer images using a non-steam iron. To do so, we need special sublimation paper, primed with a special dye to be transferred to a special fabric or other surface preprepared with Artis Decor sublimation primer.
For wood, MDF, treated canvas, card and porous surfaces in general (not suitable for fabrics in general):
1. Apply a generous coat of Artis Decor Sublimation Primer, diluted in 50% water, to the selected surface and allow to dry.
2. Place the sublimation paper with the design facing the item. Apply heat using an iron on the cotton setting, with no steam, gliding slowly over the piece. Depending on the surface and the iron's power output, the tie it takes to transfer the image will be different, meaning you will have to lift the paper to check the if the design has been transferred.
3. We recommend applying a coat of water-based varnish
For fabrics:
1. Apply only on 80% polyester mix fabrics or fabrics suitable for sublimation. You will need a dry iron, or to turn off the steam setting.
2. Place the sublimation paper with the design facing your piece. Apply heat using the iron on a cotton setting, without steam and gliding slowly over the piece. Depending on the surface and the iron's power output, the tie it takes to transfer the image will be different, meaning you will have to lift the paper to check the if the design has been transferred..
3. Final result, use on different surfaces.
