Scrapbooking Supplies

There are countless scrapbooking tools, so many that when you're a beginner it can even feel overwhelming. That’s why it’s important to distinguish between those that are essential and those with a more specific use for a particular technique.

Scrapbooking Materials and Tools

What other scrap tools can I find at Craftelier?

When we start in the wonderful world of scrap, everything seems amazing and essential, but what do we need to begin?

What are the basic scrapbooking tools?

Let’s see what a basic scrap tools kit would include:

  • Scrapbooking is based on paper, so the first item on the list will be cutting tools. A good craft knife, a non-slip metal ruler (to use with the knife) and a cutting mat to protect your workspace are essential. Good scissors are also a must, ensuring they are sharp. A paper trimmer will make measuring and cutting much easier, and even scoring folds.

  • Another tool that will be very useful is a bone folder. With it, you can score and create perfect folds, as well as help glue paper or fabric without wrinkles.
  • We can’t forget the Crop-A-Dile, which allows you to punch holes (in two different sizes) in all kinds of materials and set eyelets. Or the Corner Chomper, used to cut corners into different shapes, from classic rounded edges to decorative finishes. They work on paper and thicker materials (cardboard, acetate, etc.).
  • From here on, depending on the type of projects you create, you’ll discover which additional scrap tools you need to add.

The Big Shot requires a bigger investment, but once you’re fully into scrapbooking, you won’t want to live without it. It’s a tool that allows you to die-cut and emboss, together with dies and embossing folders. It opens up a world of possibilities for cutting words and shapes, giving your projects a professional finish.

If you’re a fan of mini albums, you should look at tools for binding, such as the Zutter or the Cinch. If you prefer mixed media, you’ll likely need an embossing heat tool or a gel plate for printing with paints.

As in all creative arts, imagination is the limit. You can find a tool for almost anything: applying foil with the Minc, creating pockets in plastic sleeves with the Fuse Tool, making envelopes, bows and boxes with Punch Boards… or even using a cutting plotter, such as Silhouette or Cricut, to create practically anything you can imagine.

In short, with the right scrapbooking tools, you’ll take your creations to the next level and make your work much easier. And here at Craftelier, you’ll find everything you need, always at the best price.
