Artistic Anatomy 5 Joints and Muscular Functions

In the fifth instalment of his famous lessons in artistic anatomy, Michel Lauricella applies his well-known pedagogical formula to the mechanics of the joints and their materialisation in bony and muscular forms. - Nearly 400 drawings of the joints and the movements they make possible - such as flexion, extension and rotation - organised into four sections: head and neck, torso, upper limbs and lower limbs. - Visual description in synthetic and mechanistic forms based on a reduction of the joints to simple types, such as the sphere and the hinge. - Resources to enrich observational drawing and facilitate the practice of imaginative drawing by inspiring imaginary, hybrid or fantastic forms that always try to maintain the relationship between function and form.
