Bleedproof Winsor & Newton 160gr

• This type of paper is specifically designed to resist ink saturation from alcohol-based markers and allow for multiple coats without the ink bleeding through or blending.

The main characteristics of this type of paper are the following:

  1. High grammage: The grammage refers to the weight of the paper per unit area. For artwork with alcohol-based markers, a heavy-weight paper is recommended, generally 150 grams per square meter (g/m²) or more. A heavy weight ensures that the paper is thick and strong enough to withstand ink and layer work.

  2. Bleed-proof: Bleed-proof paper has a specially coated surface that prevents marker ink from spreading or absorbing too much into the fibers of the paper. This ensures that lines and colors remain sharp and do not blur excessively.

  3. Optimal performance for alcohol-based markers: Alcohol-based markers typically contain more fluid inks and intense pigments. The right paper for these markers should allow for smooth, even application of the ink, without soaking quickly or leaving unwanted marks.

  4. Capacity for multiple layers of ink: A good marker paper should allow layers of ink to overlap without the first layer mixing or dissolving. This is especially important in artistic works where you seek to achieve gradients, shading and more complex details.

  5. Acid Free: Acid-free paper is essential for quality artwork, as acid can deteriorate and yellow the paper over time. An acid-free paper has a neutral or slightly alkaline pH, ensuring its long-term durability.

When choosing art paper for alcohol-based markers, it is a good idea to look for products specifically labeled as "marker paper" or "fine art paper" that meet the characteristics listed above.
