Since its origins, Paris has been Sennelier's source of inspiration. This is what makes the brand so Parisian.

Sennelier originated in 1887 in Paris, in front of the Louvre and a stone's throw from the School of Fine Arts, the epicenter of the world of Arts... on the Rive Gauche (the southern bank of Paris). From the Latin Quarter to Montparnasse, the Rive Gauche revealed itself as the area of artists, intellectuals, musicians, teachers and students. Proud of its origins, the name “Rive gauche” was naturally imposed on Sennelier Fine Oil.

Drying 2 times faster. While retaining the essential characteristics of oil paint, Rive Gauche Fine Oil Paint dries twice as fast as classic oil paints. The result is a reduced drying time, but that does not infringe the possibility of working in cool areas.

An oil paint that yellows 2 times less Safflower oil is used to make the 60 colors. This oil is characterized by its low yellowing (-50% compared to linseed oil) and its excellent compatibility with pigments.

Very effective cadmium substitutes! The fine oil paint "Rive gauche" uses new pigments, very effective cadmium substitutes, which offer opacity and luminosity properties practically equivalent to the authentic ones.
