Gesso acrylic primer Liquitex 473ml

• A product used to prepare surfaces before applying acrylic or oil paints. This primer has several beneficial characteristics:

  1. Non-yellowing: The white acrylic primer is formulated to resist yellowing over time, ensuring that applied colours maintain their original brilliance over time.

  2. Flexibility: Being flexible, the primer adapts to the natural movements of the substrate, thus preventing cracking or peeling over time. This is especially important on flexible substrates such as canvas.

  3. Tooth and adhesion: The primer provides a suitable texture (tooth) on the surface, which allows the paint to adhere optimally. This is essential for good colour handling and durable adhesion.

  4. Versatility in substrates: Liq Gesso 16oz can be used on a wide variety of surfaces, such as canvas, paper and wood. This allows you to prepare different substrates before applying the paint.

The way you use this primer can vary according to your needs. You can apply it directly without thinning it for a thicker layer and greater hardness, or you can thin it with water up to 25% if you want a thinner layer. This will depend on the effect you wish to achieve and the characteristics of the substrate you are working on.
