Jacquard Cyanotype Set

Cyanotype is the process of printing or stamping through sunlight, one of the first photographic techniques discovered in 1842.

It is used to produce monochrome prints with Prussian blue finishes.

Harness the power of the sun to make detailed impressions of virtually any object that casts a shadow: tools, toys, plants, leaves, stones, sand, rope, lace, etc.

Recommendations for use:

  • For optimal results, combine the two components and allow 24 hours for the mixture to set.
  • Check the printing process from time to time in case any shadow or element interferes to avoid unwanted results, since the part where the sun does not shine will remain blank.
  • The set contains: 22.68 g of red potassium ferrocyanide (Part A) and 53.86 g of green ammoniacal ferric citrate (Part B).

How to use:

  • Make two separate preparations of each component with distilled water, avoiding contact with sunlight at all times: 10 g of Part A with 100 ml of water and 25 g of Part B with 100 ml of water (stir homogeneously)
  • Mix both preparations in equal parts in another container and stir.
  • Apply the product to the desired surface with a brush and let it dry.
  • Place the object (acetate print, leaves, branches, shells, etc.) on the sensitized surface and expose it to sunlight (UV) for at least 30 minutes.
  • Clean the printed support well with water until no yellow remains appear.
