Inkwells and Nib Holders for calligraphy
Although a simple cup can be used as an inkwell, this object is often synonymous with elegance and refinement.
It is therefore recommended owning a desk inkwell in order to train for calligraphy on a regular basis, thus learning a rhythm and an effective posture to perform a clean and accurate stroke.
The inkwell can come in different shapes, sizes and materials, such as glass, porcelain, silver, brass or tin, with wooden or tin supports.
Some inkwells also support pen holders and can be presented in an inclined position to soak the pen in a way that is more suitable for the artist.
The desk inkwell is usually equipped with a lid to prevent accidental spills and excessive exposure to air and light.
