Hey there, it’s Kathleen here again and I’m excited to share my second project that I made for Mi Tienda de Arte/Craftelier with you! :)
For this project I used the new Crate Paper/Maggie Holmes "Flourish collection" to create a mini album all about my love for flowers and plants (and this collection was the perfect fit for it!). And because I have tons of photos of flowers and plants, the mini album got very chunky in the end. But I really love how it turned out and how well the collection fit my photos.
I also mixed in some vintage book pages that I took from an encyclopedia all about plants that I had bought just a week before I received the Flourish collection. That’s what I call perfect timing, haha :D

I made the whole album from scratch. For the base of my album I used a sheet of white cardstock, parts of two sheets of patterned paper, a washi tape from the Flourish collection and three antique golden book binding rings.

To decorate the cover I used one of the Puffy stickers and two of the layered stickers and some alphabet stickers from my stash. I absolutely love the different textures and the dimension of the layered stickers!
For the inside I mixed some of the 12“x12“ patterned papers, some papers from the 6“x8“ paper pad and some of my vintage book pages. I also used the Flourish ephemera package, the cardstock stickers, washi tapes and the special die cut package that includes only flowers and leaves to decorate my inside pages.
The pages themselves are often quite simple. That’s because the floral patterns are already relatively busy, so I didn’t want to add too much on each page. For the „special something“ I included a lot of interactive elements like flip up pages, pockets with a tag that includes some hidden journaling, a fold out page or shaker pockets.
Throughout my album I also tried to repeat several elements (apart from the flowers) like the small phrase stickers, the vintage book pages and the typewriter written journaling to keep a consistent look.
