The Christmas diary as its name suggests is an album in which you write down the day-to-day of this endearing season. As the idea comes from the United States, the diary collects the moments from the 1st to the 25th of December, or until the 1st of January.

During that time, try to capture a memory of that day through the scrapbook (from the preparation of the Christmas tree, and the Christmas lights, to how we bake Christmas cookies or make Christmas dinner). Of course, not all memories have to be Christmas-related, you can simply show something special from the day. The important thing is to have a physical and material souvenir of that year's Christmas, which all scrapers like to have in the form of an album! christmas diary 2022 craftelier uk

Simple Stories

ā— Brainstorming

To make our Christmas diary possible, you can use any scrap materials and, of course, photographs. Lots and lots of photos. As a basis, you can opt for different solutions: - You can make an album with scrap paper, binding it with rings and the help of the Cinch, or using the base of a book. - Using the Project Life type cover system as a base to make our diary easier or even a Midori can be a great option. christmas album ideas

If we opt for the self-made version of the album, the ideal is to work with a simple ring binding that allows you to add pages as you need. And it's better if the size is not very large because then you will not need to spend a lot of time on each page. The best is to keep it simple and to be able to decorate your album little by little every day in December. Of course, if you have the time, you can think about other types of more complex bindings. Another idea is to work on this Christmas diary with your children -children, nephews, nieces, cousins, etc.- We know that part of Christmas is spent with the family, so why not involve them? This way they can decorate a page, write a sentence, etc. We are sure that this will make the children's holidays more bearable. If you opt for a Project Life album, remember that if you have a Fuse Photo Sleeve, you can organise your photo pocket pages the way you want. In either of the two options - handmade album or Project Life - one of the most important things for the "Christmas Diary" mission to be effective and rewarding is organisation. For this, here are three tips that we consider infallible to make your Christmas diary a success:

ā— Preparation

Prepare the basis of the album in advance. In this sense, create the structure beforehand and even the base of some pages so that later you only have fun capturing the day-to-day. If it is a Project Life album, choose one that you like and think about the decorative style. This way you will already have done very important preliminary work.

ā— Organisation

To make your daily (or weekly) diary work easier, we recommend you choose some of the materials you will use (papers, decorative elements, stamps, etc.) and separate them. Another option is to choose a range of colours or a specific scrapbooking collection. christmas album scrapbooking

ā— Performance

Don't get overwhelmed if you can't work on this project every day - you have to work, being with the family, and it's also a time of many preparations. Therefore, a good idea is to think of an idea every day, capture a moment in a photograph and then, at the weekend, get down to work. You lose the spontaneity of the moment, but if you take note of that daily inspiration and take a photo, success is guaranteed. And, as a gift, the fourth piece of advice: don't overwhelm yourself creating this diary. We know that all time-limited projects stress us out, but this is all about enjoying it. So if one day you don't come up with anything super-creative, or it hasn't turned out as you expected, it's absolutely fine. A simple sentence, a written thought, or a few die-cut words can be used to express how the day went. Not every day is the same and that's part of life. So relax and enjoy. The result is important, but the process is even more important.   What do you think about this kind of project? Are you making one? Tell us in the comments!
