Ho, ho, ho! Christmas spirit invades our homes! It's December so... it's time to decorate our home! Let's go with another post of ideas to do that! There are many ways to decorate our home and shopping centres are making it easier and easier, but it's way more fun to prepare your own personalised home decorations. Here there are some of our proposals :)

Advent calendar

What is one of the first things we prepare, even before the decorations? Advent calendars! Especially if you have children at home, as they are the ones who enjoy these details the most. You can choose the typical chocolate calendars, but you can also do it yourself and personalise it using, for example, the typical paper rolls. Another option, which is very easy to do if you have any of the Punch tools from We R Memory Keepers, is to make a bunch of envelopes, small boxes, or bags and decorate them with scrapbooking materials. Then, take a string and create a pretty garland from which you can hang these boxes or bags with gifts and decorate the house! diy advent calendar, craftelier

Ornaments for the tree

Another element you can personalise as much as you want is the decoration of your Christmas tree. Forget the typical glitter balls and create your own! If you like to work with different techniques, get a pack of white plastic balls from Artemio and use acrylics, fabrics, ribbons, paper, glitter paint, embossing, etc. to decorate them as you like. If you have older children, you can even let them make their own Christmas baubles. Another eye-catching option for the tree is transparent plastic stars to fill with glitter, sequins, paper, or other details. If you want to recycle the remains of your scrapbooking material, there is nothing better than creating Christmas balls made from paper. All you have to do is cut out your scrapbook paper using a circle punch and then fold and glue them together, remembering to add the string to hang them on the tree.

Christmas Wreath

Another classic that can't be missed on the doors of our homes during the festive season is the wreaths. You can choose a porexpan base of the size you want (15, 22, or 30 cm. in diameter) and then decorate it with the technique you like best. You can choose to make a patchwork advent wreath, by cutting out pieces of fabric or folding them and rolling them up to create shapes, or you can use coloured pompoms. If you prefer traditional wreaths, you will only need a porexpan base, tinsel, and string. All you have to do is roll the tinsel around the base and decorate as you like. christmas wreath inspo

Christmas Garlands

If you want to decorate the walls of your house in a Christmas style, you can make some beautiful garlands with the Christmas cards you receive during the month. A simple satin ribbon or string and some clothes pegs and you will be able to display all the postcards in a decorative way. customize christmas garlands

Christmas table decorations

Another of the main focal points of the festive season is the table, which deserves to be decorated in a very special way! For this, here are some ideas:

ā–ø Candle holders

You can add a warm and homely touch to the tables by adding some candles. You can decorate a candle holder with porex ball, with scrap paper or fabric, and decorate it according to your taste, for example, depending on the table linen you will use that day. You can also use your washi tapes to wrap the candles or some natural pine cones to create a unique and rustic-looking base, whatever you can think of! diy chrismtas decoration

ā–ø Placeholders

If you want to mark where each person should be seated at the table, what better way to do it than with a small gift (you'll surprise your guests, you'll see!). You can make a small bag or envelope to contain a sachet of tea or a sweet and decorate it with a ribbon or string and a label with the name of the person. Another very useful option this autumn is to pick up some pine cones in the forest and add a tag with each person's name.

ā–ø Decorative jars

You will simply need some glass jars or large salt shakers, some small decorative details (trees, deer, etc.), and salt or sugar. Place these elements inside as little micro-worlds. You can make them simple or sophisticated and place them in the centre of your tables or furniture.
