Can you imagine how many projects you can create with this new tool from We R? Cards, invitations, album covers, customised diaries, planners, etc. And you can foil a multitude of materials, such as cardboard, fabric, faux leather, balsa wood, acetate, and more!

What is the Foil Quill?

The Foil Quill consists of metal tips that are heated and when passed over the foil, they cause it to be transferred to the surface of our project.
You can find two types:

1 · Foil Quill for plotters: thanks to its adapters, we can place the tip on our plotter as we would do with a blade. In this way, you will recreate with foil the design you have created with the design software. The adapters are compatible with the most popular cutting tools on the market: Silhouette Cameo and Portrait, Brother ScanNCut, Sizzix Eclip and Cricut.
2 · Foil Quill Freestyle: cwith this model we can use the Foil Quill without a machine. Thanks to its shape, similar to that of a biro, you can make our designs by hand, without needing a cutting plotter and on any surface.

Both Freestyle and plotter model Foil Quill come in 3 different thicknesses: a thin one for smaller details, a standard one, and a thick one for larger designs or for fills.

How does the Foil Quill works?

On Freestyle Foil Quill model, you just need to connect the tool's USB port and wait for it to heat up. Place the foil on the surface you want to transfer it to (with the shiny side facing up) and you can create your design whenever you want.
In the case of the Foil Quill for plotters like Silhouette or Cricut, place the adapter of your tool ( standard ti - 1.5 mm, fine tip - 0.5 mm or the thick tip - 2.5 mm) depending on the size of the stroke you want to achieve. Position the foil tip in the housing of your electronic plotter, plug in the USB and set up the design you want to create.

Position the paper for the project you're going to use on your tool's mat and place the foil on it (with a little bit of washi tape, so it doesn't move!) You're ready to send the design!
